Another Konami classic!! Life Force aka Salamander was released on the NES in North America in 1988. It was another in a long line of hits for Konami and one of my childhood favorites.

This video will feature Stage 2 the Volcanic Stage. This stage is top down vertical stage and it is a fun one. You will power up at the first of the stage and then into the volcanic area where you face a lot of mechanical enemies. Some of the enemies look like tubes and the walls have enemies attached to them. The level splits into two parts a left and right part that you have to navigate several new enemies. After getting through them and dodging bouncing balls mechanized enemies etc you make it to the end of the stage and the boss. It is a mechanized box structure with 4 arms that rotate around it. While dodging the arms you can take out the center area of the boss and thus defeat him. Off to stage 3.

Mini Review
I still think this game is good. I loved this and Gradius (and most everything Konami came out with) for their fast paced gameplay, great graphics, fun score, etc. These games fit in nicely with your collection and I still enjoy playing them. They are certainly worth another play through on your hacked NES Classic or your favorite emulator.
