Super Contra was released in January of 1988 by the great Konami publishing house. Konami was on fire at the time with Castlevania, Gradius, and many others. Contra was no exception. It is the sequel to Contra a great game in its own right.
This movie features Stage 7. In this stage you have to work your way down through a bunch of alien egg sacks? Muted aliens and guards come at you as you work your way down. You have to work down past more the alien eggs until you finally make it to the boss, Temple of Terror. This guy can be tough it drops down blood droplets and spiny balls both of which kill you instantly. Good timing will allow you to jump and shoot and eventually take him down. After his defeat you move onto Red Falcon’s Poison Palace and stage 8.
Mini Review
I still love this game. It was a classic of my youth. I really enjoyed the Konami games of this time period. It is certainly worth a play through if you like the run and gun style of play. Was a nice edition to the NES Classic. Wish the original was on the console as well.
